RUNO TERMS OF USE

Please read these Terms of Use carefully. By creating an account or using the Runo API, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Runo.

1. Definitions

Runo: The hosted web scraping and data extraction API available at scrapewithruno.com and api.scrapewithruno.com, operated by the Developer.

API: The Runo application programming interface, including all endpoints (/extract, /batch, /crawl), the dashboard, and related services.

You / User: Any individual or entity that creates an account, activates an API key, or uses the API.

End Products: Applications, pipelines, tools, or services you build using data returned by Runo.

Developer: The individual or entity that owns and operates Runo.

2. Account and License

Upon creating an account and activating an API key, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the API in accordance with your subscription tier and these Terms.

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your API keys confidential and not sharing them with third parties
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Ensuring your use of Runo complies with applicable laws

3. Subscription Tiers and Usage Limits

Runo is offered under the following plans:

• Free: 500 requests/month, 1 request/minute
• Starter ($17/month):15,000 requests/month, 15 requests/minute
• Pro ($59/month): 50,000 requests/month, 60 requests/minute, includes paid bypass (CAPTCHA solving and residential proxies)
• Scale ($449/month): 500,000 requests/month, 360 requests/minute, includes paid bypass and image-augmented extraction

Each API call to /extract counts as 1 request. Each URL in a /batch call counts as 1 request. /crawl jobs reserve max_pages upfront and refund unused requests upon completion.

If you exceed your plan's monthly quota, requests will return with an error. Pro and Scale users may purchase prepaid overage credits to continue beyond their quota. There is no automatic post-billing for overages.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Runo only for lawful purposes. You may not use Runo to:

• Scrape or access content you do not have the legal right to retrieve
• Violate any website's Terms of Service in ways that expose the Developer to liability
• Transmit malicious code, launch denial-of-service attacks, or interfere with any systems
• Harvest personally identifiable information in violation of applicable privacy laws (including GDPR)
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the API itself as a competing product
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract proprietary components of Runo

You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of Runo and the data you collect complies with applicable laws, including data protection regulations in your jurisdiction.

5. Data and Privacy

When you submit a URL for extraction, Runo fetches and processes that page's content. Cleaned page text is sent to Google Gemini (Google's LLM API) for structured data extraction.

Important: Do not submit URLs containing data you are not authorized to send to a third-party LLM provider. You are responsible for ensuring your use is lawful.

Runo does not sell your data to third parties. Usage metadata (request counts, error rates, timestamps) is retained for billing, rate limiting, and service improvement. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

6. Billing and Payments

Subscriptions are billed monthly through Polar.sh, our payments provider. By subscribing, you agree to Polar's terms as well.

• Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled
• Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; your tier stays active until then
• Overage credits are prepaid; they do not expire and are retained if you cancel and re-subscribe. Refund requests for credits are handled via the refund process below
• Plan downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period; upgrades take effect immediately

We consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, email us at care@scrapewithruno.com with: (1) your refund request and the reason for it, (2) your payment receipt or order confirmation, and (3) a description of the situation. We will review your request and respond to confirm whether a refund is possible.

Overage credits are prepaid and non-refundable except at our discretion under the refund process above. Credits do not expire and are retained if you cancel and re-subscribe.

7. Service Availability

Runo is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Runo's anti-bot bypass capabilities are provided as-is. Target websites may update their defenses at any time, and Runo does not guarantee successful extraction from any specific site.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the service with reasonable notice where possible.

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in the Runo platform, including the API architecture, extraction pipeline, and software, remains exclusively with the Developer.

Data returned by Runo is extracted from third-party websites. Runo makes no claim of ownership over extracted data. You are responsible for ensuring your use of that data complies with the rights held by the original content owners.

9. Termination

9.1 Suspension

We may suspend your account if you violate these Terms, your usage causes harm to the service or other users, or we detect fraudulent activity or abuse. Upon suspension, access to Runo is revoked and your subscription is cancelled. We reserve the right to take additional measures to enforce suspensions at our discretion.

Suspension is reversible. If your suspension is lifted, access to Runo is restored and you would need to re-subscribe to reinstate a paid plan. To appeal a suspension, contact us at care@scrapewithruno.com.

9.2 Termination

Where possible, we will provide notice before termination. Upon termination for cause, your API keys are revoked and access to the service ends permanently. Prepaid overage credits are non-refundable upon termination for cause.

9.3 Voluntary account deletion

If you delete your own account, your Polar subscription is cancelled immediately - you will not be charged in the next billing cycle. Your API keys are revoked and access to the service ends immediately. You will receive a confirmation email upon deletion. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid period; no prorated refund is issued for the remaining days. If you believe exceptional circumstances warrant a refund, you may contact us at care@scrapewithruno.com and we will review your request under the refund process in Section 6.

10. Liability

THE API IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF RUNO.

Total liability under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for Runo in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Developer from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the API, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The “Last Updated” date will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of Runo after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Disputes

Before initiating any legal action, both parties agree to attempt an informal resolution by contacting us at care@scrapewithruno.com within 30 days of the dispute arising.

14. General

• Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the complete agreement between you and the Developer regarding use of Runo.
• Severability: If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
• No Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision does not waive the right to enforce it in the future.
• Assignment: You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. The Developer may transfer rights if ownership of Runo changes.
• Force Majeure: Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control.
