RUNO PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains what information Runo collects, how it is used, and your rights with respect to that information. By using Runo, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

Runo is a hosted web scraping and structured data extraction API operated by the Developer at scrapewithruno.com. References to “we,” “us,” or “our” in this policy mean the Developer.

2. What Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, email address, and display name. We store these to identify your account, associate API keys with you, and send service-related communications.

2.2 API Usage Data

For every API request you make, we record:

• The timestamp and endpoint called (/extract, /batch, /crawl)
• The HTTP status code and error code returned
• Request count against your monthly quota
• Render mode used (plain fetch or headless)

We do not permanently log the URLs you submit or the data returned to you.

2.3 Billing Information

Payments are processed by Polar.sh. We do not store your payment card details. We receive and store your subscription tier, billing status, and transaction history as reported by Polar.

2.4 Page Content Sent for Extraction

When you submit a URL, Runo fetches that page and extracts its main content. This cleaned text is sent to Google's LLM API to perform structured data extraction.

2.5 Technical Data

We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, request headers, and response times. These are used for debugging, security monitoring, and rate limiting.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate your account and validate API keys
• To track and enforce your subscription quota and rate limits
• To process billing and handle subscription changes
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms
• To improve the reliability and performance of the service
• To send you service-related emails (quota warnings, billing events) if notification preferences are enabled

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Caching

Runo caches extraction results in Redis to reduce latency and LLM costs on repeated requests for the same URL and schema. Cache entries are stored for 6 hours to 30 days.

Cached results contain only the structured data returned to you - not raw HTML or personally identifiable information from third-party pages, unless that information was explicitly requested in your schema.

5. Third-Party Services

Runo relies on the following third-party services to operate:

• Google Gemini (Google LLC): Cleaned page text is sent to LLM for structured extraction.
• Google OAuth: Used for sign-in.
• Polar.sh: Payment and subscription management.
• Upstash: Hosted Redis database.
• DigitalOcean: Server hosting.
• CapSolver / IPRoyal / Bright Data: Used for bot bypassing systems.

Each of these providers operates under their own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them if you have concerns.

6. Data Retention

• Account data (name, email, Google ID) is retained for as long as your account exists
• Usage records are retained for 90 days, after which they are automatically purged
• Billing history is retained as required by Polar.sh and applicable financial regulations
• Cached extraction results expire automatically per the TTLs in Section 4

When you delete your account, we delete your user record, API keys, and associated data. Some residual data may persist in backups for up to 30 days before being overwritten.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data. However, no system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee that data will never be accessed without authorization, but we will notify you promptly if we become aware of a breach affecting your account.

8. Your Rights

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data (available directly via the dashboard)
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection: Object to certain processing of your data

9. Cookies and Tracking

Runo uses DataFast for analytics tracking on our landing page. DataFast is configured in cookieless mode, meaning it does not use cookies or long-lived browser storage to identify visitors. No cross-site or long-term tracking profiles are built. The dashboard itself uses a session token stored in your browser's localStorage to keep you logged in.

10. Children

Runo is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Runo after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
